What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor, and VS Code securely call external tools. Connect the Sight AI MCP server once and your AI tool can use your whole SEO toolset: research, content, keywords, CMS publishing, indexing, and more, directly inside a conversation.

Which clients can connect?

Any MCP client that supports OAuth 2.1 + PKCE — including Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor, and VS Code. Most clients register automatically via Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), so there is nothing to copy or paste.

Do I need an API key?

No. Connecting is OAuth-based: your client registers automatically and you approve access on the Sight AI consent screen. If your client needs a stable client_id, you can pre-register one from Integrations → Sight AI API & MCP in the dashboard.

What can the agent access?

Exactly what you approve. Scopes are granular: analytics, opportunities, articles, keywords, agents, integrations, planner, indexing, and the outreach inbox. You pick the team and specific sites the connection applies to. You can revoke access at any time.

Does this include my automations?

Yes. The MCP server mirrors the v1 Developer API, including your scheduled agents (article creation, article boost, interlinking, site performance, AI prompts, and outreach). Your AI tool can list, tune, and run them on demand, with the same capabilities your background automations use.

Are there rate limits?

Yes, to keep things safe: article generation is limited to 10/day per team, SEO refreshes to 20/hr, agent runs to 5/hr per site, and keyword adds to 100/hr per site. Automations are included on Pro and Advanced plans and metered in AI credits.
